You're forced to use the tech, and deep down, you resent it. You were promised convenience, but it's delivered through inconvenient means. Tools that trick and manipulate you, that do less than advertised, and boy do they advertise. Popups nag you to pay for what you don't need, while what you do rely on vanishes after a forced update. The new and improved design doesn't have space for your workflow. It's disorienting to realize things you'd click or tap on have disappeared. It's not anger or betrayal exactly, something softer and in-between. Yet you persevere and pay for it anyway—it's your choice, but it's the only one.
